The sequel to PARADOX, just released, is
SYMBIOSIS: Titans of Cassiopeia.
Jackson and his family return to civilization after protective exile inside Enceladus, but their next adventure is even stranger than the first. Having to deal with three alien species, Jackson is ready to throw in the towel on his mission to save one of them from its own shortsightedness that led to antibiotic resistance.
With Quixote as his chief engineer, a new, faster ship takes them first to the dry, extinct, Martian world of Eta Cass Cuatro to pick up an archaeological treasure. From there they go to Eta Cass Cinco where a population of pacifists is dwindling before their eyes. In between, Jackson runs into an old foe from Pegasus who is profiting off the entire triangular fiasco.
Rianya suffers from an acute onslaught of the deadly disease, and Zalara is forbidden to cure her with an act of empathy. As the crew and doctors unravel the mystery of the artifact from Cuatro, it becomes increasingly clear that it has everything to do with the problem on Cinco, and holds a secret that will threaten Jackson’s future, if he survives the schemes of the Pegasi trying to stop him from accomplishing his mission. He faces every captain’s worst nightmare, and has to live with a daily reminder of the consequences of his choice. Novel, about 107,000 words.

It started as a great promise, this genetic vaccine, the splicing and dicing business, and
for God’s sake, it worked. It worked! Malaria was on its way to extinction even though the mosquito was not. More than a million people worldwide were dying every year from malaria despite progress on other viruses carried by the hated insect.
When Earth scientists realized the pandemic could be stopped with a chiral protein molecule, none could be found that would be accepted by the body and integrate. Left spiraling enantiomeric molecules of amino acids only existed in the cell walls of some bacteria. In 2158, two science vessels were deployed from the North American Science Council to search nearby exoplanets for the miracle so desperately needed.
The Science Ship Linus Pauling, commanded by Captain Thomas K. Jackson, found a planet with just those molecules. When their power supply is irreversibly damaged, they are forced to take escape pods to its surface. The same molecules of protein that spiraled to the right, came with opposing sugars that spiraled to the left – exactly opposite of those on Earth. Stranded twenty five light years from Earth, they needed to survive long enough for a rescue ship. As starvation began to take its toll, Captain Jackson reaches out to a humanoid population and is befriended by a native woman whose beauty was equaled by her intelligence, compassion, and curiosity.
Hopelessly in love with Rianya, he’s the only one surprised when a baby comes along, turning the native population on its head. A jealous crew member, an angry shaman, and a triple moon solar eclipse seem to conspire against the tiny girl, but even more than that, secrets in her genome make her worth her weight in gold.

It had been seven years since Captain Thomas Jackson had visited Tau Ceti D, an earth-like planet with a young civilization just emerging from an Iron Age. No longer searching for gold, he is tasked to return and protect human interest in the planet when a nuclear reactor suddenly appears in a small coastal town.
It’s no surprise that aliens are behind the millennial leap of technology, but after he arrives with his small team, the puzzle only gets more complicated. He discovers that nothing is as he expected, from the electric omnibus system to the woman he’d not forgotten for seven years.
