Thank you for visiting From the Stratosphere.

Science fiction is more science than fiction here. If you’re looking for information, your Eagle has Landed. I have a passion for science, from astronomy to zoology. I love to bring interesting information about our world and humanity to light. Like aliens? Space travel? Do you like a strong hero with integrity, courage, and a caffeine addiction? How about realism and engaging story telling?

By the way, this page site does not have a secure socket layer because we don’t do financial transactions. As the Great Oz said, “pay no attention to that red triangle with an exclamation mark behind the curtain.”

You’ve come to the right place.

Because I love to bring current science news to the forefront, and use it to educate while entertaining. Stories could be about re-animating rock-dwelling microbes (Lithotropes), or why thorium is so much safer than a uranium power plant. You’ll find plenty of space travel, friendly aliens, evil aliens, a little romance, and a lot of facts. I’ve tackled antibiotic resistance, climate change, overpopulation, and genetic manipulation. If you need a diversion, with just enough technobabble, it’s great to be up in The Stratosphere.

My stories are not for everyone.

If you’d like to try before you buy, sign up to the newsletter and receive my novella, the prequel to the Jackson Saga series, Serpents of My Imagination, free.  I’m sure you’ve seen an invitation pop up by now. Just an aside, all my other books are available in Kindle Unlimited. You’ll find more than a thousand pages of free reading! Also, I’ll send you updates when books are about to be released or when there’s going to be a special price offer. I only send one or two emails each month with interesting facts, quizzes, and photos of science related stuff (1-2 a month, not per day!). Finally, I won’t bot, spam, or sell your email to anyone. Curious about what others think? Head to Amazon and read those reviews, or head to Goodreads and find more there!

Star Trek meets Jurassic Park.

People have commented that my stories remind them of Star Trek (The Original Series and Enterprise), and are similar to Michael Crichton (Andromeda Strain, Jurassic Park, ER). You’ll find the same main character, Captain Thomas K. Jackson, in all my published works. He’s been called a mix of Indiana Jones meets Captain Kirk, but I like to think he’s a little more calm and level headed than that. You’ll just have to judge for yourself. Here’s a great website you might want to check out that’s all about Star Trek.

  1. Looking forward to your next release of the Jackson family in space. My mother lived with her folks on a Danish freighter from 1930 untill the start of the war. Mom and Grandma regaled my brother and I with tales of shipboard life with crew from all over the world. It was more fun than living aboard the scuttled hulk in the waters off of the eastern shore of the Danish island of Fanø for the duration of the war.

    1. Sounds like a series of stories in themselves! Thank you for the message. Thirteen languages! Didn’t know that was even possible – wow!

  2. I found your interview in my Awesome Gang newsletter. I saw you are writing scientific fiction. I am attempting the same thing. My novel ‘Flatlanders’ is steeped in theoretical physics. The challenge for me is to present the science in an entertaining way and not slow the narrative down. It’s good to find another writer attempting this.
